Thanks Leo but I couldn't find the MXM material in the link you provided. There is only a map for the displacement. Is that what are you using?

Thanks Kurts that's exactly what I looking for, but I can't see the MXM material anywhere? Is it available some place else?

I'm using the exact same displacement map (well, I think I blur it a little in PS)

I haven't had much 3D work lately so, I haven't made MXM roof tile that I'm happy with. :(

Give it a try, and post your result... perhaps you can make a real good one for us to use in the future

It looks that nobody is using roof tile displacement for archviz, or maybe they just don want to share the MXM. Did anybody see a good sample of this type of material being used in a maxwell scene? maybe it just not suitable for detail render.

Could be as you say that they're simply not sharing what they produce :( try adding a couple of them to the requests thread and see if that will spark some creators to produce a few good rooftile materials for you all to use.

BTW is there a good tutorial of how a displacement map is created? can photograph my be use to create a displacement map. In may case would be easier to created a tile by tile than learn and create an usable displacement map.

why don't you start with this pic

Start with a simple diffuse material and paint some textures to it

:D

It would probably take you less time, than waiting for someone else to do it for you. I for once, could use something like this, but I have no 3D work at the moment so I'm spending all my time in AutoCAD :(

Hi Leo, thanks for the tip. I am sorry that you are spending your time with autocad, I though your company was moving to revit.

spending my time in autocad = horrible life

The only person that knows how to use a computer in my company is me... so, when you say my company is moving into revit sounds funny. :D

Anyway, I just started a small project.... I was gonna do it in revit, but I had more problems than solutions so I switch to autocad again. I might wait a little longer until revit develops even further :D

Let's wait until google buys autodesk and include SU engine to Revit.
Come on Leo revit is ready and you should be taking advantage of it. Your are going to spend a little extra time in your first project, so what? later your boss would give a rise and make you vice-president :D . There is a lot of help on the revit forums.
think about it.
