Hello.

Im trying to make a glass-material with a frosted logo, but I just cant seem to get it right.

The problem is that I dont want light to bend when passing trought, so I guess AGS is the way, but I cant get AGS to get frosted.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks

I tried to get help on this issue awhile back also to no avail. You might try looking at this tread, but it didn't help me much.

Apparently to get frosted glass you really do need refraction and thus can't use AGS. If you figure it out please let me know though. There's a project I would like to use it on but until we can figure it out I'm stuck using Metal Ray.

You could perhaps make a standard AGS material (so two bsdfs) and then add a third, frosted real glass bsdf, with a weightmap of your logo.

Yes, I tried that but it looked wierd when the frosted logo bent the light.. :S

Why doed dielectrics always bend the light? Thats not the case in real life is it? A lightbulb for instance. The light does not bend there (not as seen by human eye anyway), but we cant make that with dielectrics do we?

Yes it does bend the light, it's just that the lightbulb surface is so thin you don't notice it so much. Could you show an image of what it looks like, with the logo on a separate, masked bsdf?

If thats the case, why cant I use Dielectric then? My surface IS VERY VERY thin. Not single sided, but very thin.

I can post a image later on today.

Thanks for taking your time Mihai

I have changed my mind about the forsted logo, since i didnt get it right, and decided to get a metallic logo on glass insted. And its looking pretty nice I think.

I just have to get the glass brighter. Its so dark now.
