There was a thread a while back discussing the need to develop a library of industrial materials, plastics in particular, that would give predictable results. For example:

Glass filled nylon
styrene
Acrylic
Polyethylene
polypropylene
nylon
abs
acetal
delrin
Etc...

This would be a great help for us product vis guys. has anyone seen anything like this on the market?

That's quite a good idea actually.. perhaps engage a few sources with physical data...

that's cool. They have the refractive index of acrylic.. 1.49, and light transmission of 92% (that's for clear however).

aswell, there is some SSS absorbtion and scattering.. but how much, I wouldn't know..
