Well I see such incredible work on here all the time I figured I better ask for input before I get too far into details on this one...

If you feel like commenting on the design itself go ahead, but I am looking more for guidance with regard to shot angle, lighting, materials, you know - the stuff of Maxwell render...

Very nice model, very nice images...
My only comment is that you have to improve the lighting....
Maybe you should try a multilight low res to see some variations and then decide how the final image should look like.

Thanks for taking the time to write. However, can you be a little more specific?
I am pretty sure that the lighting scheme will work well in the house in reality, but I am really at a loss for realistic lighting in MR. I always find my interiors too yellow and dark, then when I play with the camera settings I overexpose... :?
So if you (or anyone) has any advice on that - well - write away... :)

Nice work!
I think the overall light levels are too low.
Sometimes you have to add extra "fill" lights. (Photographers do it!)
Or sunlight through the windows.
Also, are all your lights preset warm? This will contribute to the yellow effect.
One small crit I have, and it's picky, is in the 3rd shot I can see the edge of one wooden step up close and the grain is running the wrong way...
See? Picky.

OK, my idea as I said before is to use Multilight to find the best level of lighting... Have you worked with Multilight before? you can increase/decrease the power of each light, including then environment, to have hundreds of test images to decide which is best to use.

I think it is a matter of camera settings too... Try to play with ISO or Fstop while rendering.

What I know for sure is that this low lighting would give me a headache... The third picture is very nice, the first two, need more light.

The yellow color exists because of the lights you have chosen... (warm)
Try to use some other lights, or use RGB value close to 255,255,255

One more thing, maybe it is because the images are noisy but I think there is too much bump value or wrong scale for the wall material.

So, is this a known issue?
