Nice work on the scene so far. 8)

There doesn't seem to be any shadows from the sun. Is the sky composited or a HDRI? HDRI/MXI lighting would also give you reflections in the left hand building's glass front.

Looking forward to more.

its supposed to be just after sunset - no sun. sky is skydome.

Ok. Have you tried a version with the sky texture converted to an MXI and use that to light the scene? Maybe combine it with the phys sun to match the background sun position.

There''d be less light from behind the camera & more from behind the buildings, with the sun position as in the photo.

you are on the right track with the blue hue, but its WAY to much blue it should just be a suttle hint of blue mixed with the orange from the setting sun and darkness from the rest of the night sky

tim : I have tried converting it to mxi but was not happy with the results.
I know what you mean about the sun orientation in the background image,
the sun actually sets behind the camera for this site, I still need to add a mountain range behind the buildings which should cut out most of the sunset showing.

jeff : I will look at that now.

Thanks to both of you, I am at that point where I've been looking at this and tweaking it too long, so your comments are very valuable.
