OK, friends.

I have a mind to participate this contest.

but I'm not a interior expert and didn't much render interior scene.

So I don't know I could do it, but anyway I'll try my best.

This is my reference photo. I don't know source of this.

As you can see, it's not a complex scnee.

thats a good decision sanford,
It is illuminated by pure skydome/diffuse light an area in which maxwell really shines. I will most likely choose a similiar lighting type.
The shaders will be rather easy to create, so you focus on realistic modeling. Curtains, cushions, pillows and drapes can be hard to create in a photorealistic manner.
I wish you good luck and will post my image some time this afternoon.

Regards,

Benjamin

I am actually still wondering of what kinda image I am going to model. There are a few things I consider first when I am going to render in Maxwell. I try to avoid things that would need displacement - fuzzy carpets for example, flowers are also very hard to do so the less the better. I really dont care about number of objects or their complexity since MXW easily renders millions of polygons, I am furthermore looking for images that include lots of glossy surfaces, caustics, indirect reflections, and diffuse lit scenarios. These are areas in which MXW is best at and outperforms any contender. And since we are required in such a small resolution I would choose an image with a medium number of objects to really focus on.

Maybe I am going to do a bathroom, or a living room but for sure no kitchen.. :)

Benjamin, your render always give us fright.

What kind of scene do you choise, that'll be great and wonderful and I convinced that you give me another shock.

Good luck. :D

You chose a pretty difficult image, all those curtains and pillows are not going to be easy to make them believable.
