NicoR44: Thank you. I know it's closer to finishing now that the command module is underway.

Now the Window/Black area has been cut out of the command module mesh and all the edges where the cuts were have been tidied up by hand. The mesh is about 1mm out in one part so that will be adjusted before the panelling gets added. This particular mesh (when panels are added) will be the one used for 3d printing and another version with details made for this 3d Eagle.

The panel shapes have been cut into the Command Module mesh. Edges were tidied up by hand and the new panel areas given a new material (so they are visible for this render before extruding!). This takes longer than using just HyperNurbs for raising panels but I think the end result will look more like panels glued onto the Eagle.

Maximus3D: Thank you. Next on the to do list is UV mapping and painting the command module. Also, there are still some parts/ details to be added to the walkways - I've only just got the last model kit for those though but will get started once the command module is finished.

I'm looking forward to making a real 44" 'Eagle' more than finishing this 3d one but if I stop now it probably wouldn't get finished!

I live in England.

Returning to the walways and shelves. Here, the front ones have now had all the model Panther and Leopard kit parts added. Measurements were taken directly from the kit parts in question. Surface detail such as bolts, grills etc will be formed with a bump map at the texturing stage of these components.

I've been texturing some of the walkway and shelves. These have mostly been UV mapped seperately so I can use the textures on any future Eagle model/s which have different details. So the walkway 'box' and shelves are sort of generic items.

So, is this a known issue?
