Looks good Brian. I might correct the perspective and up the contrast a bit in a photo editor.

My biggest pet peeve with clients is the camera views they choose. They are never the best ones. Ever.

I was thinking about the poor plant in the corner... how long will it take before it is totally dry and yellow.. lol.. :D

I am interested by the Donor name room... you mean no donor.. no school..? or is it something else...?

btw, the seats in the classroom are looking very confortable.. oh my.. the seats we had back then.. pure cheap wood.. so broken..

Funny about the plant, I had to beg them to let me include it to bring some color to the room. The interior designer... what can I do?

The school has been there for a hundred years. :) But these renders will be used to help in fund raising to finance the new work.

These seats are actually crappy CAD models I had to fix at the last minute. Fun fun.

hey... I think the seats are cool... at least from here they look very comfy... they did not want the plant, because they know it'll die in no time.. you should have model this too.. (I pay a lot of attention to plants.. they have a muh slower metabolism than us.. but are so friendly.. I do love plants..

wow, so the gov. or the city don't pay for it..? how about the State..? What are they doing with your tax...? mmm. is it a totally private school..?

Anyway... for some reason, I really like these renders... 8) they make me feel confortable... strange.. :|

These look really good Brian, very good lighting throughout, but....the can lights seem very unresolved to me. When you look at a recessed can you can see the can the can and trim clearly, even with a halo, which in your images is obscuring rather than adding to the can light. I personally don't like the white personna...people in scenes are very hard suggest/show....I've struggled with these and at this point just avoid them altogether but seem to be needed for scale. Our son who is a graduate architecture student has done some scenes with people that work very well IMO. If you like, I'll ask him if it's ok to forward you a couple of examples. Joe

Thanks, Joe. The can lights... yes you caught on to my simple shortcut. It's not a can at all. It's just a square emitter placed at points along the ceiling to simulate the can light, without all the noisy extra bounces. Without the scattering effect, the square emitters were visible...

The ghost people, well, it's our accepted standard. It's the "uncanny valley" issue that keeps me from using life-like people. I've never seen an arch-vis render with 3d people models that look good. The creepiness of the corpse-like models always draw the eye away from the subject of the renderings - the architecture. I have found this is the simplest way to show people for scale purposes. And I don't do PS cutout real people either. They never fit into the scene lighting well. I'd rather have a simple object rendered in the scene.

But I am very interested to see what your son has done! The young ones are always coming up with great new ideas.
