I'm still working on this model from time to time, and i have not forgotten about it. Some things have changed and i have an idea also for after the summer when i hope Maxwell 2.0 will be released. My idea is.. i'm finishing this model soon as best as i can do and then i will start a renderchallenge, yep a challenge where those who participate will work with my model and then do the best they can do regards lighting, materials, scenecomposition and rendering. This will be a open challenge where anyone is welcome to join in and do their best, amateurs as well as professionals. How does that sound.. anyone interested ? :)

Here's a clayrender from Modo showing some improvements i have done to the model, not all of them can be seen because some are hidden by other geometry. There's still much more to come and i'm picking off one part at a time to make it correct.

Wow i haven't looked into this thread for like 2 months, thinking i have seen more than enough world war 2 models on this forum

Great progress Magnus, the details and proportions look very good.

Teabag: Thanks  i kinda like the details too. And i'm glad to hear you like the idea of a renderchallenge with Maxwell 2.0, i think it would be a nice way for people to really get to brush up on their skills and to force themselves to learn what's new in 2.0 :)

Adrian: Thank you :) hehe, WW2 models.. there can never be enough of those, can there ? noo.. with all the time and referencematerial i spent on this it should be a fairly accurate model. I even got feedback from some carpenter friends of mine who use these tools daily.

Rob: Thanks :) great to hear you too think that the idea of a contest using this model would be a good idea.

I have rebuilt the big adjusterscrew on the model, this one is more accurate than the old one i had. Still some minor things to fix on it but it won't take long to do. I also added the big long and thin handle sticking out above the backhandle of the benchplane. It includes internal geomtry which unfortuntely can't be seen.

Thanks Leo :) glad you like it so far.

A new update on this baby, i added threading to a axis where the new big adjusterscrew sits and i also fixed the size of the adjusterscrew which was too small in the previous image i posted. This one should be better, and i also reduced the polycount in the adjusterscrew to make it lighter to work with. Now i will start fixing all screws on the entire tool to give them correct threading. :) i know it will probably never be seen but they should still be there.
Another thing which i need to rebuild is the "fork" and the way it connects with the threaded cylinder. It's not looking good enough now but it's on my tasklist to take care of that whole piece asap.

New images below showcasing the work i done tonight. Enjoy!
