New update.

I´ve started working on the entrance part. So far, most of the time here have been spent with modeling new ornaments, and naturally i couldn´t find a proper font, so i had to model that too.

I´m thinking of saving the statues for last, and save some polys while i´m working on the rest of the model. Haven´t decided yet.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. :)

No plans really. The build is just a personal challenge. Depending on the final quality, i´ll most likely upload a few images here and there.

A cover is always nice, too bad most mags are biased towards characters. :)

This post is amazing. I don't usually make many posts but I must say that this is evolving into a beautiful project.

I can't imagine uv mapping and texturing this sucker. Probably another 2 months of work!

I like what you are doing here Rochr. This is pure unedited Rochr at his best!

Great one, Keep the renderings coming - can I see a snapshot of your material properties?

Thanks again guys.

For these test renders i´m just using Mihai´s "Arch Wall" material. It´s clean and quick to render.

Haven´t payed the final materials much thought yet.
Although i think i can forget about UV mapping, considering the entire lot is made out of a crazy amount of small pieces. :)

Another set.

The upper side of the entrance part.
I´m quickly getting a quite large collection of these darn ornaments, so hopefully i´ll be able to re-use them on the rest of the building. :)

I´ll probably have to start connecting objects as well. I´m up at 13000+, and even though the polycount is resonable, Cinema usually don´t work very well with a large amount of objects.

Rochr,

I would recommend that if the polycount starts to break Cineama - start using the xref feature in Cinema 4D.

And for Maxwell, you may think to export certain groups of things out of Cinema and to MXS, then reassemble in Maxwell Studio for the final rendering.
