Here I added some more, adjusted the shininess, grounded the floaters  , and rendered with hdr as the lighting. Tell me if you like this lighting better. I think I like the previous lighting setup better, a mix of emitters and a touch of hdri.

I like the new light better, reflections come to life with HDRI, maybe some dof and stronger exposure.
What I miss in your lego is ... bevels... Maxwell love bevels.

Can you show a wireframe?

Looking good Bubba ......But , ... I think if you want to go to the next level, ..you really need some true environment reflections and not just shady spots.

Thanks, Ivox. I do want to take it to the next limit... uh, I mean level. What do you mean by true environment reflections and not just shady spots?

Sure.

As shiny as legos are, .. you'd think you'd at least be able to see something from within the environment reflecting on the many surfaces, ..if not just a few.

That is all ..... Not that it isn't a good render without it, .....but that would be the next level.

Well, not all of the lego bricks are shiny, take the sloped bricks for example. we have a slight bumpy texture on the actual slope.

I still find the reflection too much in the bricks tho.. but maybe I am just thinking the lego way from being used to making images for what the Art Directors want or do not want.

Btw: The transparant material looks wrong.

You have to remember, .. most of us don't see Legos that often, .. so we judge based on what we remember them to be, .. accurate or not, .. that's how the mind makes its assessments about what it thinks is real or not.

...and that's my psychological 2 bits added.

I have them on my desk while I'm modeling, so I have no excuse for getting it wrong...
That translucent yellow/green plastic I'm still tweaking. It's difficult.

I'll look into it!

Of course, I like to try to create my own materials. I'm a stubborn jackass.
