Very interesting materials and light tests! The modeling of the mouth is really convincing!

ivox3, yes I am enjoying this. :D My psycho helper tells me I should enjoy my hobbies. ;)

Jozvex, you sure Buffy ain't for hire? I like the shrunken head idea, lots of them hanging.......on............a........ cheers for the inspiration. ;)

Maxer, sorry mate. Maybe I should have put a warning in the title. So far it's just a personal project to help improve my Maxwell skills. If an animation does appear, I'd love to take up your kind offer, thank you.

Cheers Adrian, this one seems to be a favorite, so I think it would be rude not to do an improved version.

tom :D No name yet. Although he's a she. ;) Well Aiko is anyway.

Many thanks Mike and tokiop. :D

Eye work and a slight colour map variation. Trying to get that cloudy look to the eyes, but I'm not 100% happy with them at the moment. (Again earliest first)

Cornea variants below are modified AGS, frosted glass and frosted glass with sss, in that respective order.

I need to go back to the displacement stage and rework the base mesh today. I'll hopefully work on the eyes some more.

Thanks for the comments and please, if you are willing, suggest improvements or MXM possibilities for the eyes.

Cheers,

Tim.

jdp, :D

Cheers damien. Render times are at 30mins each except for sss eyes versions which are about 60mins. All rendered at shown resolution.

Maxer I think it's the different colour map, I'll swing back to the other and tweak the one above.

One from last night that I left running. (Eyes still not right in this one.)

Thanks to all for the cigarette idea. :D

Clay render of the improved displaced mesh.

Textured first version, clay cigarettes. Eyes closer to how I imagined them, but I still like the originals.

Textured full version. All textures again made by me in Photoshop.

Cigarettes close up.

These are a bit ironic really as I'm a heavy smoker myself.

I've been trying to gety rid of the DOF that's present, so the face is more in focus in the background, but due to the hand's distance from the body, all my shutter & F-stop tricks aren't working. Not without having 1000+ ISO film. :? I need to double check my scale settings I think, as that's usually the cause.

More tomorrow if my other new project doesn't take over.

Sunlightrocker, I did think about making him the new Marlboro man, but don't really want to get into any trademark fights.
Sorry he's not freaking you out anymore, what I have planned hopefully will. ;)

Herve' heh, just like Death cigarettes did here in the UK. In fact the packet design was inspired by Death cigarettes.

Thanks cali3d.

Another which appeared whilst doing hair tests. The cloth on her/his head was to be alpha mapped hair, before I turned it to thin cloth, but I'm going to use bez curves for the hair.

Cracked my DOF annoyance by using F-Stop=100 Shutter 1/1.6725 Iso=500 (F_Stop should have been 128 by my calculations, for that shutter speed but I couldn't get it above 100.)

More tomorrow.

Have done some more work on this today, but I've managed to leave the image files at home.

However I did write this quick walk through of my texture creation, as requested on another forum.
