As Brett said, just because an image is stylized, or stylized in a popular way, doesn't make it invalid. If that were the case, then we should just stop rendering product shots altogether, since so many are on white seamless backdrops with 3-point lighting.

Agree with Eric that Benoit et al. was among the first to generate this look in CG. But I would argue that no arch. visualizer legitimately invented this look; that claim belongs to actual photographers. If they can continue producing bleached out, dreamy looking interior shots, then I see no reason to bash the practice in arch viz...
