are the lights (glas caps especially) modelled, or are they partly textured (bump, displacment)?
I tried displacement over bump mapping but that didn't give much of a difference, except that the render time went way up.
The bump in Maxwell is just so good!!

Gotta say that the flasher did come out very good with the bump map, i think i'll have to do a detailed model of that one. (combine them probebly)
Brilliant work! Really enjoying watching the progress of this. :D
Hang on then, an update in 10 min. ;)

@David
The taillights are updated :) This is looking better isn't it?

great little parts of the car !
p.s. i have never enjoyed a car render whip more than this one.
nice presentation (i really like the introduction of all the small parts)

but hey, don´t say you are only doing a version with the lights switched off.
i defenitly would like to see a version with lights swichted on !!

Hey Tok_Tok,

I got something for this -- you had mentioned a bit ago that you needed a car paint in racing green... you can change the color of this material to whatever you need very simply:

I'm curious to see how it works for you... map is set to scale so you may need to adjust UV's or map tiling for proper "flake" effect.

Best,
Jason.

Thank you again guys! It´s really motivating :D

@Halflife
Oh yes i almost forgot. I did promise i would use your carpaint on the Mini model. Well here is goes, i did a few adjustments to the material though.
All the paint materials in the renders use the same dark green color. I changed the Nd and i turned the Force Fresnel off on the BSDF layer.

Tom's carpaint looks very much like the last one i ended up with after changing your material. But i think yours is better, it has a bit more contrast. And more of that
metalic look. Although i have to say that i did not change any setting to Tom's material. It could be more the look i wanted if had taken more efford to change en test it.

with the dark backdrop, v3 looks most appealing to me.
although, i think the vote would sway if the background was white...

ultimately, it's what you think looks best that matters most :)

So, is this a known issue?
