Hervé: :D well you sir are far more dangerous, i've seen what you can do with 3D and your food models and renderings is some of the best i've seen in years. I kept copies of your images here in my inspiration gallery :) great to hear you finally got to update your Modo to 301 now, then you'll get then new upcoming 302 release which should be out soon. True these meshes should be relatively easy to unwrap, but before i do i need to get some more modeling, tweaking (found some oddities on some meshes) and fixing problems.

def4D Scratchman :D lol that's funny, it sounds kinda like a cheesy artistname. I'm not so sure the unwrap process in itself is that much to see, it's boring enough to do and i can only imagine it throws people asleep when they read about the process, i would..

tokiop: Thank you :) keep in mind tho that these are tests and the brass material will probably not be included anywhere in the final renderings. It was just to viz the models with now. It worked for that. :)

Brett: Thank you! :) that material was something i started on for the xmas challenge but never had time to finish it on time. It's supposed to be a brass bell you usually find on the bells hanging on Santa's reindeers, around their necks and such. Or they're also quite common on horses in some cases, or a both indoor and outdoor decoration.

Some news about this.. i was supposed to work more on it this weekend but other stuff got inbetween and i haven't got anything done either yesterday nor today :( i lost lots of valuable time i could have used to finish off such things as the unwrapping and Zbrushing but nooo that time went down the drain. Hopefully i can speed things up now and finish the final modeling, do the unwrapping dance and start singing the Zbrush song all within 1½ days now.

Thanks again so much all of you, your comments are so fun to read :D i had a great laugh once i got home now today and could see them.

Time for a small update tonight, not much to say but i attempted to do some Zbrushing on the leather part and here's how it turned out. I think i have to redo some parts, it looks kinda cheesy here and there.

Kurt: :D thank you! it could still need some tweaking and fixing, the sculpted mesh is a bit "wobbly" and rough. I'll fix those things tomorrow.

The worst thing of all remains.. sigh, to get a successfull move between Zbrush and C4D, in other words reapplying the displacementmap in C4D and make that work with Maxwell. And those tests i ran tonight were not promising, infact they didn't work at all. I have to rethink this tomorrow again to solve it somehow someway.

Max, it's fairly easy to export from Zbrush to a displacement map. Are you having problems with C4D importing the map somehow?
