stunning stuff Doc  ok, I'm being hyper-critical here, but maybe that guitar fingerboard needs a slight radius.........I admit it, really struggling to find a crit! 8)

:) Cheers glebe. The edges of the fingerboard are actually alot more round than you can tell from that picture, but I'll throw a reflective mat on there soon and see if it needs something more.

Another quick update on page one.

Coming on very nicely.

Love the finish on the mixer, how did you get that look?

Can't wait for the Ibanez to be sprayed and laquered!

Thanks for the comments guys :) Appreciated. More coming soon.

Glebe : Oh what a fool I've been :D Good eyes mate. I'll go back in and curve that thing right up. And there's nothing wrong with being a muso... It can happen to the best of us :D

d7mcfc : Thanks mate, neither can I! The mixer finish uses two hi-res (4096x4096) noise maps. The first controls the colour, and the second controls the roughness. I've then added in the decal layers, and a final scratches layer on top. I'll post it if anybody is interested, although it's likely to be a fairly large file (around 10mb.)

Cheers,

Update on the front page

Hey guys,

I haven't had the time to do any of my portfolio stuff for a while, but thankfully that appears to be changing! :D Hopefully alot of this will get finished in the next week or so, and to get back into it, I figured I'd try something I'd been meaning to model for a while. It took about 3 hours in total along with the stand (which is just bevelling really...good ol relaxing bevelling :) ) and alot of that was spent trying to figure out that darn mic mesh, which ended up being alot easier than it looks. It's only a quick test render, and obviously needs a few tweaks here and there.

It's good to be back doing fun things :)

Cheers,

Cheers lebbeus :) And no mate, I couldn't figure out a way to do that and make it look accurate, so I modelled a quarter of it in its actual shape and then duplicated the other 3 sections. Basically just a lot of pushing and pulling poly tubes :)
