This is a great series, thanks for sharing :-)

In the latest image with the sun visible in the distance and the long shadow coming off Wall-E, my first thought was that it would look great with some Volumetric lighting. I know Maxwell doesn't currently support such atmospherics and I don't know if it's even possible with Maxwell's unbiased approach but it sure would be nice.

Cheers guys!! yes it would look great with volumetric lighting! 8)

Something new now, I wanted to model those electrical wires on the back of his head, and still be able to move his eyes to set his mood.
And it worked out, I'm now able to update the assembly and have the wires reset to the correct position

Have a look:

Cheers Hervé! and I will, but it's a pain in SW :(
First I'll make a better mat, and then I'll check if I can texture all segments individually

hej... well individually...? why don't you make a UV with all pieces side by side.. screen copy the UV view, and open it in PS.. and then do the work there.. no..? I mean I have no idea how SolidWorks... works.. so maybe it's not possible.. no idea..

Nice overall progress, Curt! Will you improve subdivision for the round parts? They are visible to my eyes :)
