Impressive modeling! I like the attention to detail like the edge rads and deformation of the slotted holes.

I am also a solidworks user and would like to know if you built the model as a multibody part or as individual parts in an assembly. keep us informed as to your progress. perhaps copy the solidworks forum. Its been kind of quiet there.

one comment. try using deform on the spring to get the slight arc that the actual part has.

Very cool!! Try and pinch the metal brackets in the sharp corners.. on the inside of the bend you can see the material bulge out and on the other side you can probably see it pulled in.. if you can recreate that and take away the uniformity of the neatly filleted edge this way, you will get an even more realistic model.

Yeah the model is nowhere near accurate but i'll fix it! I wasn't expecting to post a reference photo when i started modelling it 6 months ago.

Mike its an assembly. I'm going to do a couple of bits with modo hopefully. Bit worried about not having UV unwrapping in Solidworks.
