That one looks good too - I'm not a designer either so I can't help out much on fabric choices :)

MIght have a look at your UV's on the front edge of the seat though - just noticed a texture scale difference there that I"m not sure is intentional.

Otherwise looking sweet to me!

About the textiles, ..... I'd say from a commercial viewpoint, ..the leathers are going to be your top pick, ..and those should also come in other colors ( grey, blue, tan, brown) .....moving on down economic chain, ..bring on the pleather... I don't think the fabric/textiles sell quite as well ....

..or maybe a nice tight poly in the center, ..flanked with the leather for contrast(like the first render, ..but with less color contrast) ... also, ....perhaps a secondary accent color on the piping ..... you know, .. to go with the racing theme.

The tissue material you are using is very very nice.
As simmsimaging said uv map density is different in several part of the chair.

Lather in summer make your a... bottom wet but tissue became old and dirty sooner. And tissue is cheaper.

If client are "climbing managers" lather is the choice.
If they are green...use fabric.

really nice work! really nice materials.. I really like the base material, but my suggestion would to have the bumps on the wheels a little softer then the base.

Great work!

:D Looks really great !

What program did you model the chair in ?

Thanks, it was modelled in Rhino 4.0 with the Maxwell plug-in. I was a long term Alias Studio Tools user, until I got sick of exporting models for rendering. The workflow with Rhino and Maxwell is saving me huge time on product development.

So, is this a known issue?
