Tim, I think there may be a bug with hdr and studio, if you have a scene already made, and you then add an hdr environment, the reflections will looks strange. A solution is to start a new scene, add the hdr environment, and then import your objects into that scene (don't import the old mxs scene). I'm not sure why this happens and it doesn't seem to happen all the time....

Yes I've been trying to isolate it. It's been driving me nuts in the process. Especially when you get the random nan value for Water thrown in as well.
I'll re-import the model as a .obj, after setting up the hdri in a new file. This is the first time that I've had this problem though. I've followed my usual methods for hdri.

No update due to shadow only tests, which are still giving bad results. Also there's a bug using hidden to camera and RS:0, it doesn't work.

Cheers,

Tim.

Tried your method Mihai & success. I think it's happening when switching between mxi/hdri & physical sky lighting. I switch quite a lot during my render tests, so perhaps this is it.

Paint test:- (Further work on my metal flake paint.)

Scene test, hdri lit:-
Clay:- (Incorrect film size hence bad aspect ratio. :o )

Texture test:- (Incorrect film size hence bad aspect ratio. :o )

i'd prefer a less tuning and more ridable model

otherwise its niiiice
Heh, I run 35mm profiles on my real car, perhaps these are nearer 25mm. Will inflate them a tad more.

Couple of other projects mean no progress on this today, work load depending I'll start the interior & finish off the exterior this weekend.

with a road that smooth i'm sure you wouldn't notice.

any plans on modelling the interior??? maybe after you've spent
a couple of "tim ellis hours" doing that, you could pop open the hood
and give this baby some real tork.

Thank you very much.

Yes interior and engine to come, just not had time to work on this over the weekend. 'Tim Ellis hours' heh, I should sell some on ebay to 3d modelers. ;)

An old paint test I found with a modeled background, no hdri.
