Josh- I agree that for a commercial client, the bluish adjustment would probably be the seller. I posted the un-Pshopped version because the coloration looks more realistic. Which for most people I work for translates as *unprofessional*.
And yes, I agree, that orange-ish reflection and similar occurrances is one of the reasons I reallly like Maxwell.
Mark- The two HDR's used to light the scene are soft box lights. The goal being to get some highlights and nice gradient on the top surface of the boring ring. While keeping the diamonds from looking like dead glass.
The few times I've used more natural HDR's the reflections are too busy for my needs. But I agree, there is probably an interesting middle ground that would be fun to explore. I'd have to change the background material as this one is too reflective.
Three posters out of almost 600 views. My percentage of posters per image is increasing......
