Beautiful work.
Great modeling in Rhino.
I wish I knew how to do such things.
But I have one question.........
What is that white area on the right, where the cables come together?

 Studio set up rocks.

Did you model the seam, or is it a bump map?

Great work Nico.

Tim.

 That studio setup render is 95% realistic!!

You lose 5% because it looks to me like the cables are intersecting at the first crossover from the bottom plug?

Thanks guys!!!

Hey Mihai, That would be nice

Hi glypticmax,
You mean in the right bottom corner? it's just the Light plane reflecting on the floor.

Hi Tim,
I modeled the seam

Hey Jared,

you mean this area here?
Image
I don't think it is

As always when you produce anything Nico it's very well done, and the same goes for this cable. Nice work! your studiosetup is a good one on these latest renderings you posted but i'm missing one or two things.. the specular highlights on your materials are too even, a little bit of irregularity will add realism to your surfaces. Give them some roughnessmaps and a tiny bumpmap and the realism will be there. :)

Hi Nico,
I was looking at the top render, where the cables come together and touch. Right side, about mid way.
Great work, as always.

Well! It must be so realistic I was dazzled into seeing an optical illusion!

Thanks Max!!! :)
Indeed you're right, I'm planning to use a very light bump and roughness map

Hi glypticmax,
Ah I see what you mean, not sure what that is?? strange..

@Jarad :wink: .

I've been playing with Rhino 4 and bending objects in R4 works really great, have a look:

Hi Nico,
Maybe that little bit of weirdness is due to meshing either out of Rhino or in the mxs?
Just a thought.
I agree Bend is very handy in the V4 Betas. And just watch your isocurve count jump through the roof. There is a price to pay for NURBS abuse. :)

sigh…NURBS abuse :)

This is great Nico, any chance you'll be sharing your materials?

Great studio setup!!!

I don't dare to ask: would you mind sharing a bit of your light setup you used for the last studio shot? Would be nice!
