Thanks w i l l ! :) It is not finished but I don't have time to continue for now, trying to find a nice scene for it !

Thanks Tim! yes i'll try motionblur but the "2 blades" limitation (?) frustrated me when I tested last time, i'll have to give it a go again! ^^

SSS skin shader WIP (MW 1.7):
Working on a skin shader, experimenting with modeling and inclusions with new sss. Both models are wip. For foetus, eye is AGS ball, mouth is a cavity in main mesh, liver and brain are blood preset. Still need work so comments are more than welcome !

Hi Luke, thanks for your appreciation !

current skin material is like that:

Basic
SSS:
-------------------------
Nd: 1.3
Scat: 110 255 226 (light blue)
Trans: 255 102 0 (red-orange)
Scat coef: 300
Abs coef: 100
Asymetry: -0.4
Roughness: 20

Very basic and still wip (almost coherent in scale but not calibrated lightening-wise, you may have to push up the watts). Proportion of my test models must be ok.. In the little human there are modeling and material inclusions tests, detailled in the first post.

By the way, do you know any ressource for human 3d scan with possibly different layers ? I searched such models for testing but only found a small pelvis bone !

I will update the mat and try to mix with texture maps when I have time !

Have fun ! :P

tokiop,
hey.. sorry for my long time in reply,,

and thnks for the sss test. .i started testing some sss. .but yuir skin looks way better.. ive never used sss and i m doing test on 3d head model to learn sss setings effects...
you ask about resources of human 3d scan with layers..

by layers you mean bone-muscle -and skin?

there are models availabel from places like Daz3d and even the free one that comes with the program Make Human (free open app) http://www.makehuman.org/blog/index.php ... 1210866244 like poser.. it exports a 3d human boday with a 3d (lowres) skeleton.. and you can smooth the lowrez meshes to have good testing..

I do some 3d reconstruction of real peoples 3d head/body scans

i think the pelvis you found may have been an example object from a 3D program that creates meshes form mri/ct scans... this is what we use here ..

i have exampe of head that i rendered for test/promo work of just bone/skin(http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... highlight= )... I CANT release this 3d model publically ( i wish i could) and I got PARTIAL CT scan of my own head that once I reconstrcut as a 3d model I WILL release it for public use/tests

also renders I did w. another engine using a mesh i built from ct reconstruction:

im tryign to find someone that works as a radiologist that will set me up with a full bust scan of myself CT and MRI ... but i cant so far.. #1 not for free (cost would be $1000+ possibly) #2 no doctor that ive talk to is wiling to write a script for a random ct/mri without a medical reason...

-PM me

or I will PM you maybe I can set u up w a 3d mesh that you can use for your own test but you would NOT be able to share it..

Hey, thanks for the ressources Luke,

Make Human looks like a promising open software !

Yes the pelvis was from a reconstruction software demo but not much skin to shade there ! 3d scan data is really interesting but difficult to access.. Since it's medical and personnal data I understand it is difficult to share, i'll go the modeling way for testing when I have time !

continue to post your experiments it's very enlightening !

;)

So, is this a known issue?
