no no Max... don't be shy... you're proficient with Modo.. & Rhino.. great !

I love Modo more & more... and I think the Modo team is a bit like NL team... that is ... Motivated.. & creative... some other apps rely too much on their user base... thinking whatever they do... the're safe... hehe... nope... not safe anymore... finito..

Hervé  :D

abgrafx3d: Thanks :) i learnt from the masters, you and Hervé who both use Modo. Actually no, i haven't yet got a full grip around how modeling in Modo is done, i'm still taking babysteps with it.. but eventually i'll be at your level.

Chris: Hehe :D ..and thanks.

Hervé: Still trying to learn.. still trying, sometimes it works well, other times it's just easier to run head first in a brickwall. :D funny comparison there hehe btw Hervé, i'd like to see more Modo models/scenes made by you.

I'll be updating this as soon as i got time, unfortunately i haven't got time at all today as i'm gonna be out photographing a big cultural party downtown all day and night today. But tomorrow i shall continue on this scene, promise! :)

Thanks for all your nice and kind comments so far.

Hehe Adrian :) backup, you said it. I'll better burn it on a cd tonight.. btw, thanks!

Hervé: Thanks! :) i watched what you pro guys can do with it and just replicated your style of work hehe, those tools were more tedious work than i thought.. messy to get them to look good and still they're not perfect :/ sigh. Yea Modo is freakin' schweet! atleast once you get your head around how it works.. i'm not yet there but slowly getting closer...

[Edit] : Now a 1600x1200 Modo clayrendering is included. It's kinda poor lit but i hope it's ok anyways for it's previz purpose. Click on the thumbnail below to view the fullres version.

[Edit again] : A new update.. wall hooks to hang up some tools on when you don't need them and for quick and easy access to them.

Max, I think these tools look cool;.... but what happened to the render... looks kinda washed... no..?

Thanks Hervé :) it's the end result that counts, but getting there takes time. Phew! this was tougher to model than i thought it would be.. still being kinda rusty at this subdiv modeling style. It'd been lots easier and faster to do with nurbs that's for sure.

About that rendering, it's washed out as you said Hervé, unfortunately i'm compeltly clueless when it comes to Modo's renderer :( oh well, no worries tho.. Maxwell shall rescue me! :)

Ok now onto the wip, here's another wip within this wip, anyways today i started working on a jack for the garage scene. The reference is included below so you guys can see which one i'm doing.

Nice work as always Max. It look like you've got the hang of Modo so far. :D

Looking forward to more.

Great stuff Max.

BTW the chassis is formed from sheet metal, so you need a nominally constant wall thickness and commensurate bend radiusing

jespi: Thank you! :)

Miles: Thanks! :) you're right about that, but i kinda tried to ignore that so i didn't have to redo it :D it'll be finished tomorrow so i'll take a look again at the chassis and if possible i adjust it without wrecking the entire mesh. Thanks for the info, i appreciate it.

Here's the last updates for tonight, i'm absolutely drained of power now, i'll fix the rest of this model tomorrow and then resume the modeling on the workshop again. Tons of stuiff i wanna add in there..

Perfecto Max, I would certainly not doing better.. your mesh looks good ! you'll get the hang with Modo very fast.. ! you're there already !

I did not know you rendered it from Modo... aah... I don't render in Modo, just some Normal maps..

I am looking for these tools... inMaxwell !...  :D

I heard on radio you guys in Sweden are going for drastic politic changes...,?

Hehe Hervé :) don't underestimate your own skills. Trust me, when i started this personal project i doubted i'd be able to pull it off, but every new model is a challenge to build since i'm more comfy with nurbs in Rhino.

Modeling in Modo was pretty easy to get your head around, i like it :) it's all very much straight forward and you don't have to run through 7000 menues and submenues to find the tools you need to use, it's all at your fingertips.

However rendering and all that other stuff is something i don't yet understand in Modo :( i gotta figure it out one day, especially UV unwrapping and texturing. Are you skilled at that Hervé ?! if so, please teach me :)

Heh.. yea today it's voting day here in Sweden, and i'll be running off during the day to cast my vote on one of the parties and the new primeminister. Non of them are good, but the best one of the two bad one's..

Thanks again Hervé :)

So, is this a known issue?
