Well, its a little hard to explain in words only, but I'll try. I start with a plane that resembles the shape of my rooms ground plan. I am at this point purely guessing how wide my room might be, in my case I started with a 4.5* 4m plane with the little rectangular cabinet you see in the far right corner. The next step is to create a camera (start with a 35mm lens) and position it in a way that your baseplane lines up with the bottom lines of your image. To do that I display the image as a viewport background and set everything else to wireframe mode. You can now easily adjust your camera in a way that your perspective lines up with your reference photo. Then extrude your walls, and cut in your windows. the position doesnt matter that much, because once you nailed the perspective you can just slide your vertices until they line up with you photo. the same goes for wall dimensions, ceiling height etc. The setup for my image took 15 min. It's really simple.
Why now show your image and I can give you more specific starting points?

Thanks for explaining how you setup your scene.
I have followed your method and all seems ok until a try adding objects inside the room this is when all the perspective goes to pot.
So as a picture is worth a 1000 words could you post the top view point of your scene as i think is will show me where I'm going wrong

Cheers

Sure, dunno how this could help you unless you are building the same scene, but here it is: :)

The dimensions of the room are something like 4.5*4.5m I think.

Keep in mind that is only my proxygeometry that will only lead my highpoly objects proportions. Some minor things are most likely to change, because modt of the time I encounter certain errors and correct a few things. I am not sure if we are required to EXACTLY recreate a scene.
Anyway, here is my typewriter, done in 3.5h (this one was a little tougher)

I knew you'd do the typewriter next :)

I can't see too well in the photo but it looks like it has more "stuff" on top.

Nice progress Tora. 8)

Did you box model the typewriter as well, or is that poly modeled?

I never got the hang of box modeling and still do all my work extruding polygons. (Couldn't work nurbs well enough either.)

Tim.
