Dam - Tideland? I'd thought I'd seen every good movie made and I've obviously missed one! :(

Oh BTW Rusty! I noted I'd made a typo in my last post I was meaning not the last image of this post but the last image posted previously of the cow chairs!!! I remember when I first opened that thread and seriously was sitting there going WOW (opps another typo "MOO")!

The house looks great for the scene too, bring on more, more moo!

Hey by the way, I've seen screne shots of that app before what is it mate? Nice clean interface!

go couch cattle go !

rusteberg, could you please make a short description of your workflow (i think you have done it in the past, but couldn´t find it anymore)
i mean mainly the apps you are using.
modeling done in silo
UVs in ?
textering in photoshop
and then import into 3dmax ?
(this is all as far as i remeber)

would you recommend silo for modeling (and applying textures)?

i really like your style.
it is always a nice change from the usual stuff. very special !

cheers

That looks awesome. Have to say your work is consistently high end. You are definitely one of the better Maxwell users I see posting. Between you and istallgoode's bottles I'm getting strongly tempted to sway back to Maxwell-land :)

thanks guys!

@ michael: here's some progress grabs for the cattle (the house from previous post or two follows same basic flow, except it was modeled and unwrapped in Silo without any sculpting...)

starts from a box
Image

evolves into subdivided model (has to be all quads if it's going to be sculpted)
Image

parts get unwrapped
Image

polygroups get sculpted
Image

normal and displacement maps get exported and then used to create color maps
Image

materials created
Image

basic little rig setup

hope this was helpful (-:

Mate I've been looking for the first image that I saw of you "Cowch"'s I cant find it (I'm a shite searcher) and so want to!

I'm owed a free framing from my local framing shop for a job they stuffed and wanted to reference that in a request to you that I might get a higher res image and have it printed and framed for my wall marked yep "Cowch" by Tom Rusteberg!

I have a fondness for the weird and wonderful and this meets both criteria!

Even if mate you don't approve I'd still love to find your original posting and please trust without your consent no print will be made, I have the highest regard for ones work and exactly why I'm asking!
