hi all,

first post here. been playing around with M~R for the past couple of weeks. mainly trying to get my head around the lighting and materials.

this is a caterham CSR model that was freely available on google warehouse here. all credit to the original modeller terradog.

i wanted to do this in the classic livery of jim clark's 1967 lotus 49 seen here and have a go at a studio lighting rig. lots to do yet.

have to say i'm mightily impressed with M~R since i last used it back in beta.
feedback very much welcome. thank you.

The composition, materials and lighting is great!
But I agree with HalfLife, the tire rubber might need some work.
( not sure what to think about the mentioned white...it might look more correct if toned down, but I kind of like how it pops out and glows here. From a photography point of view..it might be distracting because my eyes keep moving back to the "5" )

Half Life - cheers. yep, totally agree, the white is a bit too bright and has quite a bit too much bloom.

Lars Magnusson - thanks Lars. tyres were on my to-do list, so i had a quick look at them today.

getting a fair bit of noise from my tyres bump map. not sure if its because it is quite a large map, it is too sharp, or too strong. either way, think i will convert it and try a normal map instead to see if that helps.
