I thought I'd try and fake the moon using a manipulated low powered physical sky. The sun is a little small though you get the idea!

This scene is heavily flood lighted to demonstrate the dwelling! Any CC welcome!!

well...before i read your description i thought "the lighting just looks like a halogen floodlight is lighting the scene." When i went read your description, is says you were doing that, so you nailed the floodlight, i would say! I like where you're going with this, but I think it would work better if the choice of lighting was more attractive. Think of a house in real life that is using landscape lighting to illuminate the house in a more attractive way.

Overall that work itself looks nice to me, other than the choice of lighting. I would say working with the grass and those pebbles in the foreground would help out the scene. The grass might work out fine, if you didn't have the fallen debris on it. Or if that was a bit better integrated, with less shadow maybe.

making good progress regardless, the sky looks fairly spot on to me!

Richard, try some scattering, start with 2% (you don't have to re-render for that), it will give the moon a slight halo effect.

Thanks mate! Yeah I know what you mean about the lighting, it's a balance yeah I think for this image I got wrong! I'm trying to maintain enough support of materials as these are catalogue purchased homes!

Need to play a lot more I think (when time) to get it right!

Hmmm yes the grass and pebbles sort of fell apart under the lighting and camera, strange! Needs to grass as clips or geo!

Thanks Josephus - I have used quite high levels of scattering already though higher and the foreground low lights burn out!

Mate the background trees are just a clip map no, colour map - cylindrical surround to the scene! The foreground trees are Onyx and imported to studio and the foregound plants modelled and again studio, leaf scatter - large clipped planes just above the surface. Nothing added post pro!

@ Zak - Mate you made it spooky!!!! :)

Sorry for late reply guys, darn busy!
