I canot seem to get these blades of grass to sit on top of the distribution obect see images

1. Image one shows a plane representing the ground plane, and another one representing a blade of grass. Once i created the blade of grass i moved the pivot point to the bottom.

2. Image two shows what is happening once the scatter modifier is applied to the distribution object. no matter what i try i cant get the blades to sit on the ground. They sit half way thru the plane what am i doing wrong??????

I want to make sure you know that Max's Scatter object doesn't treat the geometry as real instances. A better and more flexible way of creating randomly placed objects is with particles. Max's scatter object is old and clunky, and creates a single mesh.

Start with the Particle Source object.

If particles are too complicated for you (they are for me sometimes) you can use "crowd"

Its long ago that I used Max last time but I'm just curious - are Max-particles somehow transferred to Maxwell instances?

Thanks, Holger

If you use the instance shape, yes they are.

So, is this a known issue?
