hi Josephus,

a nice kitchen you have there.

my critisism would be that i find the first image concerning what i see of the room - better. (the field of view is better)
there is too much empty space now and too much ceiling and floor - the nice furniture is too small.
so maybe consider switching back to the old perspektive.

big K, thank you...that was not a criticism but a good observation, I completely agree :D Got caught up in the lights and materials and lost sight of the "big picture". I see also that there is too much "empty" space.

For my present purposes to show the client as much of the room as possible it works well, but as time permits I will add some "life objects" and will bring the perspective fov back to the first view.

a couple more view of the same scene...still have some things to add (life objects) and fix...the perspective, some variation in the reflectance, etc....but I feel good having gotten this far for my first since beta days

Just one little thing about your marbletop there, it looks like you used cubicmapping on it with 2x tiling on the sides of it. If possible you should do a proper UV unwrapping of the model and then texture it because right now it looks less than satisfying. Besides that, i like what you've done so far. :)

Have a look at this one from Pure Render
....have got a lot to learn before I approach the quality of Purerender...his work is most beautiful and inspiring. One of the things his render points out is what someone mentioned before that most (interior) renders (and photographs for that matter) are EITHER almost all outside (sun) light, or almost all "artificial" interior lighting, but hardly ever both. I'm still struggling with that :?

Side question...how can I get multiple "quotes" working in this forum? I see that some do it.

For Maximus...yes, I really messed up the marble countertop mapping...ran out of time to make sure it was proper. I'm also very new to using Rhino and the great plugin that JD has made and just starting to learn Rhino texture mapping. I've got it on my list of things to fix in the next round :)

So, is this a known issue?
