This is going to be my first real attempt at creating a detailed model and take it into texturing and rendering. I have seen some amazing work posted here that has been very inspirational to me. I am new to this 3d thing, so if anyone has any suggestions let me know!

Nice start on the mechanical parts. Don't forget to get rid of all of those sharp 90 degree angles with small chamfers. That's very important.

Thanks for the feedback! Thanks for pointing out the need to do some chamfering Bubbaloo! I am all over it. -Trent

A little update to the geometry. I am really starting to like this modeling thing. Again I am new to this so of you see anything that looks bogus, or any kind of suggestion, let me know!

You're right, this is one serious undertaking :D but you've done a great job so far on it, really eyepoppingly impressive detail and accuracy you managed to create.

Good work!

Quick render shows I have some clean up to do on some of the geometry: geometry poking through the front window, touch up the reveal on glass/body, and adjust some geometry around the opening for the main rotor assembly.

Nice Start with this 'chopper'.

For stationary renders you may wish to show the rotor blades slightly bowed - they straighten out when in flight.

So, is this a known issue?
