Big improvement in the dramatic quality of the lighting from your first image….. I like it a lot. The glaze / texture on your bonsai pot is picking up a lot of the colour from the table making the whole base quite dark… I’m not sure what to suggest… maybe some soft fill light. Overall it’s looking real good.

hmm too much glossy now!
i would add more specular, i mean more windows, lamps, or objects, in fact more things to be reflected!
It seems that the room is black with only a window-like emitter, behind the camera

You are right...this whole thing started as a texture test for the tree without proper planning as a complete scene. I am going to scrape it and use the tree in a proper scene to better advantage. Thanks for your comment.
