I believe it is the corner of the bookshelf close to the window that is creating this illusion. I believe the shadows are in fact correct. Trace the shadow falling on the desk up the wall and you will see. It may just be the corner of the shadow happens to fall behind the bookshelf. If you look at the second image you can see the shadow corner clearly on the wall.

It is true Peder,

The speaker on the right side of the image is casting a square shadow..

On the second image you can clearly see that this squared shadow lands exactly on the center of the wall instead of behind of the bookshelf. That is because the sun light changed position. Problem solved.. It is neither a bug or a design error. It is exactly the way it should be. :o)

Yes, maybe it's possible and there's no bug. I thought what if it's not.

I still don't get it. How can there be light? Is there a gap between wall and shelve?

The angle is very sharp.. take a look on the size of the shadow of the speaker. it is magnifying it by a few times. So the sun is low in the horizon, making the shadow stretch behind the shelf. It probably has a very small gap.

It's just a funky 5 cms distance between the shelf and the wall!
Sorry for the trouble

def4d,

It is not a mistake. It is more about composition. It looks good. and usually the shelves are not flushed to the wall anyway.. there is always a gap.
