7hours!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Holy mother .... I would definitely think of using another engine to render thins like this if it takes that long.

Hehe, i agree! :D but since this was just a test then i let both engines cook it equal amount of hours even tho it was an awfully long time to wait. You're right, for something as simple as this scanline or C4D's AR would do just fine within seconds or minutes for this. :)

Anyways, this test is now done and over with. Thanks all for looking and commenting on it, i appreciate it. :)

kool looking chairs!

can you tell me how did you do the background so that it fades from white/gray to black, but it also seemlesly integrates with the floor?

I'm sorry, I just have to say once again the Fry render lacks the realism you get with Maxwell. I have yet to see a Fry render that fools me into thinking it is a photo.

Nice job on the chairs!

LesliePere: Thanks :) about the floor, it's a standard studiosetup type bent floorplane with a diffuse greyish color on (no texture were harmed). And then the 3 lightsources are quite close to the subject so you get that gradient type look on the floor where the lights are as most intense closest to the camera and then they fade out as the floorplane stretches back and upwards.

Bubbaloo: :D don't be sorry for that, i agree that in this test the Maxwell rendering do look better. In other cases the other engine probably has an advantage. It really depends on the situation and scene and what you're gonna do. Sometimes Maxwell outshines Fry and sometimes Fry outshines Maxwell. :) ..but neither of the engine can and should be declared to be better than the other. They both kick ass!

So, is this a known issue?
