I have looked up and down the forum and at Nextlimit site to no avail. This should be a quick one, hopefully.

As it says above - I get the typical -

ERROR: - MXS file is invalid

ERROR: - Render Failed

Also it is opening the 1.5 version, not 1.6.10?? and inside of MAX if I update my preview in my ME I get a "Could not read the generated preview image" in the Maxwell translation Window, Verbose translation.

Please advise.

So you have both Maxwell 1.5 and 1.6.1 installed?

I had 1.5 installed and when I installed 1.6.10 it asked me if it wanted me to unistall the older version and re-install the new and I said yes and watched it go through both processes. Seemed to work fine - no errors.

But I noticed when I launched my render that the 1.5 version was coming up?

I thought it might be a license issue but it was all working fine before my upgrade.

I guess you should first uninstall Maxwell 1.5, then install MW1.6, then the patch to take you to 1.6.1 and finally latest 3dsmax plugin.

Thanks Fernando - I never use studio so I guess I was thinking I would just have to upgrade my plugin. I still had 1.5 installed and when it was calling up 1.5 mxcl when I hit render it was sending it 1.6.10 plugin info and that was what , I assume was making it crash. Thanks again.

Yes, Maxwell install comes not only with studio, but also with mxcl, mxed, network support,... so plugins just export the scene data to make it readable for the core.
