I want to do motion blur with a still image like I would do with vray. here is a maxwell rendeirng I did (the glass is a max displacement of a mesh) and I would like to make the people and escpecially cars blur as if they are moving while the camera shutter is open. is this possible with Maxwell and if so how can I do it? I ahve been told to render out sep layers such as shadow.... and then compose post, but what about reflections. if I have a car wizzing by in front of the glass curtain wall and I got to do that in post that just seems not worth it.

Let me know if you can help, thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

Under Renderer / General Settings you'll find Global Motion Blur, turn it on and go. But if you have objects having Maxwell Displacement, turning on this option would disable the displacement effect. In that case I suggest you not turning on this option globally but enabling object motion blur per moving objects and camera while excluding the ones which has displacement. To activate motion blur for a single object, go to object properties and change motion blur from "none" to "object".

Not sure about the motion blur - but that is a nice looking render! The DOF makes it feel a bit miniature, but the palette and contrast are really nice. Good job.

pilotdov: It's not about the number of frames, it's about how much the object moves between two frames. The longer the movement between two frames, the more noticeable the motion blur is.
