I am confused about the settings for the camera being used when rendering a scene. I have three cameras and I can set the F-stop, Shutter speed and Film Iso for each camera.
I can also set the same things in the Renderer "Perspective/Lights Viewport" box.
When I hit render, Maxwell seems to decide "itself" what setting it takes for the rendering, I am not able to force it to use the camera settings, so I have to correct always in Maxwell Render the exposure etc. again.

How can I force MW to use the individual camera settings?

Global "camera" rendering settings are for Viewport perspective rendering, in case you have no cameras and still want to adjust your viewport rendering settings. If you want to render using a camera, make it active and hit render. Beware of Render Last command (F9). Use Shift+Q to render with the active camera/viewport.

Testing now without the pressure of finishing the competition entry, it seems to work :)
I always use the "quick render" button in the toolbar, this shouldn't matter, or does it?

(ok, last week, I was working on 1.5....)

It doesn't matter from Maxwell's point of view :). It just render what you tell it to render.

Bogdan, It looks like I have lost my mind last week during the constant material updates (1.5) -under pressure for finishing my work.
I have reopened the files from last week and the settings from the cameras are used, this part of the software works as expected :)
I just hope the material assignement/file linking issue is also just my imagination.....
