I seem to be getting some weird results with hdr files. The floor has some reflection but the ball is the default material (roughness at 100%). I'm using 3dsmax plugin when I export it to maxwell studio it works fine. Image

sent the file

thanks.

I did find a work around just uncheck the use background box and usee the actual path to the file.

just a simple [simple mind asking!] with the old version if i used an HDR with the 'screen map' option on it looked fine... but now it does something very weird. Can't explain too well but overall hdri look strange with this new plugin... maybe is due to the fact i am on demo mode for now or there's a bug in the plugin?

After some tests on val2's sample, it looks like a SDK bug.
As a workaround, try exporting your scene to Studio and render from there.
Let me know if it works please.

i am experiencing the same problem.

using image based environment in max causes geometry to become ghost/opaque. the problem seems to be coming from the image based "illumination". happens with every scene. even a new one from scratch. and even when calling the direct path to the .mxi/.hdr instead of checking "use background"

when activating background only, geometry appears as it should. same with reflective and refractive.

when exported to Studio, the problem goes away. :?
