Hi,

I have recently been working on a project of an aerobatics plane. I've made a texture for the diffuse channel to get my basic paintjob for the plane. I'm now trying to add some decals over the top of the other texture although i'm having mega trouble getting it to work properly with maxwell. I'm using max 8 with the latest MR 1.1 plugin, can anybody help me solve this problem please, hopefully there is a way to do it????

Many Thanks[/img]

I am not very experienced but I think I can share some tips... The best way to do this is in studio... I don't even know if you can do this in Max
I send you this, it might help
DivShare File - MULTIPROJECTORS.zip

I don't think I can explain this very well, there is some info in the manual... If you do a search you will find some posts about your problem.
I do architectural renderings so 99% of my mats are simple tiling bitmaps.

Thanks for you reply. I'm afraid i'm also fairly new to this game and i don't understand too much from the scene you pointed me to. Can you try explaining a bit of what is happening here please.

Thanks

Hi Ben,

check out this method explained here:- http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... ghtmap+cup

I find it much easy than using multiple projectors. It also means you only need to use one UVW template in Max.

This is a great method, I was impressed when I first read it... But this is quite a complex example and you have to create all these weightmaps.
If it is a simple case of placing a logo on a surface for example, I think the 2 projectors are not so difficult to use... The mapping process must be improved of course, it would be very nice to be able to do this by dragging and resizing the map.
