Hello,

I have a question regarding sunlight.
I'm using Maxwell's physical sky for this rendering I'm doing, but I would like to change the position of the north without having to rotate the whole model.
I tried to create a Compass Gizmo in 3D Max, rotated it, but Maxwell donesn't seem to recognize it when I do the render. The shadows are in the exact same position.
Is there any way to do this, or the Maxwell plug-in simply doesn't allow it? I know the Beta version didn't.

Thank you very much,

João.

As far as I know the only way is to rotate the model..

That's very unpractical, especially when you want to later import objects to the scene from the 3d program you originally used to model.
Each time you import new stuff it appears in the original position (obviously) instead of the new rotated one.

But anyway, do you know if there the possibility of using a compass in Maxwell Studio?

At least that...

It's not possible in studio neither yet. It has been asked for many times before so probably it will be available in the next version (I hope).

So the maxwell north is then set by default as up in the y axis right?
At least that's my idea, but I havent checked properly yet.

another workaround is to adjust location and time to get the sun where you want, which is of course very unpractical too. It is a trial and error thing, but I had to switch from Athens, Greece, February 2, to Thailand, August to get things as I wanted them!
