Max 9 gets released within the next week, will the plugin work for it and if not will we see an update soon after its release

afaik all max plugins should be recompiled to work with 9. I gather autodesk changed the sdk this time (it hasn't been touched since max 6 came out), and no 32bit plugin will work with the 64bit version anyway.

speaking of which, I'm confident the guys in madrid already do have a 64bit plugin (along with a 64bit mxcl) which is just waiting for max 9 to hit the streets. or don't they?

very true, and I forgot about the 64 bit issue, I will be running 32 bit for a while but I should have a new 64bit dual core xeon box built by the new year

In 32bit max9 version, you couldn't use current plugin.

Can someone confirm that the Maxwell Plugin for Max 9 32 and/or 64 bit will not work???

I get my software soon and will not install if the plugins do not work! Please advise or point to information regarding this issues.

it won't work. all max plugins (which worked from 6.x up to 8 ), need to be recompiled to work with 9.

got my copy of max9 yesterday at midnight . the package was lying on the floor at my front door . strange things are going on over here . i missed the "i have to sign for whatever" part from the ups guy . anyway . will install max9 in several days or weeks or months .

An updated plug-in for 3dsMax will be out soon, certainly before the end of the year. It will support Max9 and the 64 bits.
