I'm not sure where the script is, I couldn't find it either.

However, I'm pretty sure that it won't be able to handle V1 mxm textures anymore. The mxm textures are only editable in the stand-alone material editor, and the converter works only within 3ds Max.

Some time ago (when 1.0 cames out) a lot of posts were deleted (i don't know why). Anyway, as michaelplogue says, maxscript can't handle mxm materials, only old-style materials. Maybe with the SDK this could change.

PD: if for some reason you need the script for old materials, send me a PM or mail and i'll send to you

To take advantage of Maxwells materials you will need to make them using either the ME or Studio.
Unless somebody writes a C program to convert materials there will not be material converter script for MAX.

it's the nature of the beast...

oh, and yea anyway, the MXS exposure of maxwell is pretty limited!

Hi, i can send u a copy of the material conversor for max. I have been using that up until today, but with the new max plugin it is not possible anymore.
Most of the images we render for our jobs are processed by Lightscape (i know its a very old app, but it is fast and gives us a very decent overall quality for the later post process in photoshop).
Anyway, my problem is the following:
I am very used to mapping materials in Lightscape because it is Very simple. After i have my materials set up i import my file to MAX and use the converter to convert all my materials and cameras to Maxwell format. Then I export the mxs file and deal with the rest in Studio. The problem arises when i use the material converter program with this new version of the plugin for Max. It simply wont work, it halts with an error. I tried reinstalling the previous maxwell.dlr from version 1 and evrything works again...the mxs file is exported correctly and rendered in Studio with no problems at all. I noticed with our new plugin for Max the maxwell diffuse materials no longer exist, so this is probably giving the error with the converter.
If anyone could help me find the dude that wrote the scrpit so he could rewrite the code for the new mxm material in the new plugin that would be fantastic.

I dont know how to post the scrpit, but i have no problem sending it to an email address that you specify.
Thanx
