Simple example scene, textures and .mxs here VIZ2006:

http://www.r-e-d.co.nz/maxwell/tiles.VIZ.zip

Crap textures but might be useful. I'd certainly like to see how others can improve the material settings. I'm fairly new to this so no apologies for the VIZ scene.

Found a few (probably not new) plugin bugs:

1.. If you try setting realworld coordinates, the .mxs file is corrupt and you need to delete it before it will load correctly in studio.
2.. Polygonal cameras get exported to studio as circular.

Plus in studio, the globe has problems with southern hemisphere settings. I think it's not recognising the GMT offset.

Hope someone finds this useful. I'm trying to understand the workflow with Revit<->VIZ<->Studio<->maxwell.

The kicker for me is UV's. Support of realworld coordinates exporting from VIZ would be FANTASTIC!!. UV still seems to be easier in VIZ with tidying up materials and bump in studio? Bump seems better in RC5. bye bye beta...

Since I don't have a 24" dell widescreen monitor, boxes in a tab window aka VIZ would be nice in studio.

hello ..
here too .. test Revit<->Viz2006<->MaxWell

i confirm for 2 bugs...
find them too ....

no other big problem for moment...
but no time to test (work work works .....)

the problem is the gestion of realworld unit for texture.. and Architectural texture conversion in maxwell ...
clearly, we don't want to lose time to retexture.... a Viz2006(revit) scene textured in studio ...

lose time ...
and i hate lose time ;-)

I allways have to place UVs in Studio while exporting from Max...simples planar maps, doesn't matter if my stack is collapsed or not I simply doesn't get UVs in Studio

maurizio,

You have to add a UVMap modifier to every object and do you mapping with these. Before you export to Studio. The UV settings in the material window of MAX/VIZ don't work. Along with realworld coordinates. This bug has been around a while.

I allways apply UVmap modifier....but now in RC5 every time I've to reapply the uvs some time to all objects and some time only to some object

EDIT:
done another test this time the object comes into studio with its own uv
the trick to make it work is to export ALL objects with a texture and check that the "use texture" check box is checked
