i've installed the new maxplugin, all works good but one thing is not okey.
After i've render my scene i get in the "Maxwell Translation window" allways the message "invalid burn (in method set ToneMapping)". In Max8, in the "Szene renderer: Maxwell Renderer" i can change the values from "Tone Mapping" "Mode" "Gamma" and "Burn", but if i close this window and open it again all my new settings are lost. I think this is not okey. Is it a bug?

Hi! Thanks for the new pluggin but still i have problem with uv map, the preview in max do not correspond with maxwell result.

And i have another problem with arroway textures, when i try to render with arroway folder i have this error:

My arroway folder and the other next limit material data base are in I:\Next Limit\Maxwell\materials database\mxm files\arroway\ not in C:\..........

New plugin is very stable... although, it doesnt convert well mxm files.
Values such as 'roughness' or 'bump' are translated with different values from the original mxm files. This happens with the import MXM option.
Also, the preview material slot is way over exposed when compared to mxed.

Hope you guys can solve this soon.
Congratulations for the effort you did put on it.... it's almost perfect :wink:

Well if i use uvwmap and tile within it instead of the material tiling the result is correct.

At first:

Thank you very much for this development!!!!

Everything is now on the right place!

Some things or wishes:

1. Now we are using the Max standard camera - but the sooo needed camera correction modifier does not work right now in the render.... :cry:

2. The Load KML-file option for the location disappeared. Please bring it back :wink:

3. Please provide support for Multimaterial and the new arch+design mental ray shaders (translation to .mxm and/or in the render process). :roll:

4. What is about the focus options from studio? It is possible to implement them? That would be fine!

This is a limitation of the engine, not of the plugin. We are working to provide this feature.

If Maxwell is set to be the default renderer, the "Renderer" tab does not show up in the "render scene" dialogue, when you start up max...minor point i know, but still.

Another thing - I can't find the right place to set export paths for alpha/object/material channels...could someone point me in the right direction?

The effort is commendable but I have an issue with animations. When you say to render a series of frames it tries to render all 6 frames at the same time instead of rendering them in order.

Since the installation of the latest Max plug-in for Maxwell my spinner precision is repeatedly set to 10 decimals in the Max preferences, while it has always been set to the default 3 decimals. I've changed it back to 3 decimals a few times by now. This problem didn't occur before installing the latest 3ds Max plug-in for Maxwell.

more issues (plugin from 07.12.2006)

- location and day / time from previous files are not loaded correctly (in app. with plugin)
- maxwell cameras from previous plugin are not shown in the viewports with new plugin
- field of view of maxwell cameras is not correctly translated
- export to mxs: only active view is exported (old plugin: ALL cameras were exported!!!)
- export to mxs: for every object (or nearly every) a material will be created! :cry:
- the memory allocation for maxscript (preference settings) has to be enlarged manually for big scenes with many objects and materials (if you want to load a file created with previous plugin): 128 MB is working (instead of 7,5 MB default).
- scenes (Max) will be bigger (size) with new plugin
- loading and saving scenes in Max with new plugin last much more time
