Thanks,

So, I get the SAME error with XP Pro and VIZ 2008. So, it must not have anything to do with Vista or service packs. The most recent MAX plugin 1.6.10 does not work with VIZ 2008 on XP or Vista.

Hi guys,

It's been ages that I've been on the forum and it feels good to be back!
BUT: I have the same problems with maxwell 1.6.1 and VIZ 2008 after we
have updated today. They clearly fail to communicate which is a bit nasty.

Our IT group pointed out that it may well have to do with a file called
PARTICLEFLOW.dll - any ideas? The plugin procedures seem to look for
that file pretty much everywhere on the system.

Did anyone try to use the maxwell_max_1.6.6 plugin with maxwell_1.6.1-win32
and VIZ 2008 on XP? Unfortunately I don't have that one anymore so I'd
be delighted if anyone could send it over.

Dear NL team, is there an update on the max plugin in sight or do I have
to roll back to VIZ2006 and maxwell_1.5 which is.... ;:,%$£()!!

However, I'm very happy with the new core and studio - spot on NL!!
Any help is much appreciated!

Cheers,

Jost

Ah, that's the problem. The difference between 1.6.6 and 1.6.10 version of the plug-in, is that 1.6.10 has support for instanced Particle Flow systems but since Autodesk VIZ doesn't support Particle Flow systems, the plug-in won't load. We'll release a fix for this. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Bogdan, thanks for your reply and I hope you can fix this soon. Do you
know if the previous version of the plugin had the same problems? Please
keep us posted. Good luck and keep up the good work!

Jep it works now ... I copied particleflow.dll from 3dmax 7.0 to my Viz2006 and plugin 1.6.10 works just fine .

So if anyone want to work on new plugin should try this too.

for viz 2008 it should be .dll from 3dmax 9.0 i suppose

Good to know that this work around does the job. Since we're not using
MAX at all does anyone know where to get the .dll from? Anyone happy to share? Cheers guys!

Hey all,

Has anyone got a commitment deadline from Nextlimit to get this working properly in VIZ2008? I tried going back and installing the older plugin, and it won't work now either!

If there is no fix eminent, would someone mind sharing their particalflow.dll from max? I don't have room on my drive to install MAX just to get this dll.

Thanks for any help.

The issue is already fixed and it will be available on the next update. Until then, you can grab particleflow.dll from here and put it in the same directory as 3dsmax.exe.

Here is the DLL, but I'm not sure the plug-in will work even with this, as Max 6 was never a supported platform. Did any of the previous 1.6 releases work?
