Hi all

Currently, I use 3dsmax and maxwell plugin for max.

I am going to try to use maxwell studio.

Is this right way to use max&maxwellstudio?

1.modeling by 3dsmax
2.export to mxs by max
3.import mxs to maxwell studio
4.assign materials, lighting by maxwell studio
5. render by maxwell render

Then I have a question.
What can I do,if I want to re-modeling(like, fix the wall, add some objects.etc...) the mxs file.

I think I can not export the mxs file to 3dsmax... :?

Thank you

You cannot import MXS files into Max. If you just want to add more objects to a MXS scene, you can model them in Max, export them as MXS and then import them into the existing MXS scene with Studio. If you want to modify some objects, you'll have to remove them from the existing scene, model them again in Max and import them.

Note, however, that there are some problems with object placement when you export a scene from a modeling application and import it in Studio. The problems can be triggered by using non-uniform scaling or by some kinds of instancing. If you encounter these problems, try to freeze the transformation on the affected objects and uncheck the "use instancing" box in the global render options.

Why do you want to use Studio? Is this because of a shortcoming in the plug-in?

Hi Mihnea

Thank you for your reply.

I see... I think I will not use the studio....
I thought the studio has more useful options than the max plugin..

I will keep using the max plugin.
