Max 9, MW1.5, a model of two buildings. ForestPack Pro used for vegetation. Everything works fine in Max, except when I need MultiLight. I tried to export to MXS and use MXST. Problem, it crashes. I unchecked ML and tried to export again. No, it crashes. Then I checked my mats, there was an unknown mat (architectural from Revit). I corrected that but still nothing.
Are there any guidelines, known issues, bugs, things to avoid etc...?

Only when you're trying to export it crashes? Render from Max works? We can have a look at the scene if you can share it.

Max crashes because of multilight, my system is WinXP32 SP2, and my PC is an Intel QUAD with 4Gb Ram.
It exports MXS fine, it's MXST that can't open MXS and crashes.
That's why I think it is a Maxwell's issue, that's why I went back to MAX to correct the materials etc.
To send you the scene for a test, you need the complete package? MXS, mats, textures etc?

For the first test, you can only send the .max file. If we'll need something else, I'll let you know. (bogdan.coroi@gmail.com)
Max crashes with multi-light enabled when you export or when you render the scene? Or both?

This is the link of MXS file, ignore it if it's useless... I prepared it before reading your answer.
Max crashes probably because of memory problems because there must be almost 40 emitters. It crashes when multilight is on.
My problem is that I export OK but can't open with MXST.
I tried with MXCL directly to render the MXS and it works. MXCL crashes too if I use ML so I strongly believe it is a memory problem.

Next test I do is to attach geometry of all the similar lighting fixtures in MAX (the downside to this is that I have to bind the linked DWG) to see what happens. Will be back soon, thanks for the help

To be able to blame 3dsmax for this bug, we need the .max file and/or the dump file generated in the %temp% directory. See Bug posting guidelines sticky for details related to the dump file.

Regarding the MXST crash, it sounds like a Studio problem and it would be better to post your problem in the Maxwell Studio section of the forum.
