When I apply materials in Max the general color displayed is a pinkish red, if I have a material with a map I can display the material map by clicking "show map in viewport". When I create a simple material and I adjust the Reflectance 0 parameter to change its color, the color isn't reflected in the viewport. Why is this and is there any what to get Max to display the correct color?

Same here in max 8. In fact if I change the color it affects the color in viewport but it's always tinted in red; I mean, a dark color show dark redish and a light color shows light red. A fully saturated color shows ok, but a black one shows dark red.

Standard materials shows ok, Maxwell ones don't.

Create one slot with a standard material, where you apply the bitmap you want to see in viewport, when the uvw is ok, reapply the mxm

Is this problem (3ds Max) of not seeing the correct representation of the maxwell material (without a texture map) in the viewport something that will ever be resolved without a fussy workaround, or is it accepted that this is the way it is?

Since here we don't have the "Reflectance 0 color" problem, I was wondering if any of you guys can provide me a scene with this problem? We're trying to fix this if it's the case.
