my renders appear to have the wrong time of day. I have set the correct Long. & Lat., and also correct GMT, and Date. At 9am July 30th or so, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, GMT= -5, Long=79.85 Lat=43.25, day=180, time=9

It shows as if 9pm instead of 9am? I checked 12 noon and it is black! I checked 21 hrs and is like 9 am? Is this a bug or do I have a setting wrong?? Thanks.

Regards Peter.

I think there is a bug in the plugin, not the one they just released but the one before that. Some of the locations I've pluged in will only produce black no matter what time I put in. I don't know if the new one has fixed this or not.

your longitude is wrong.

it needs to be -79.85

Thanks Val - that helps. Now my lighting is all out of whack! My emitters are way too bright and my sun is way too dim??

What should the scene scale be set to? I am working in millimeters. So I assume it should be 0.001, if the maxwell units are meters, Correct??

Thanks for the help.

No no!! If your models are in real scale , the scene scale is 1 whatever units you use to model. You can see the explaination by Mihnea.

Mihnea Balta wrote:No, the plug-in automatically converts whatever units your scene has into meters. For example if you scene is set up in inches and you make a sphere with radius 100, it will be automatically scaled to 2.54 when exported (inches -> meters). If you scene is modeled at the correct size, you don't need to touch the global scale factor. That's only useful if you have a scene that was modeled without taking care of units and it looks wrong in Maxwell (DOF issues, emitters not giving enough light etc.)

To wrap it up, you don't have to touch the global scale factor when you change your units from meters to centimeters.

Jespi - thanks for that. It all seems to be fine now. I just had to adjust the ISO and strength of skydome. I forgot that I used that for the image rendered. It's too bad that the correct settings don't come in with the older file. Oh well maybe soon. Also hope for the x64 version. Fingers crossed in anticipation. Thanks again all. It seems to work O.K. now.

Cheers Peter.
