These are obj, exported from XSI.
I just got home a few hours ago, but I just took it step by step.
-Uninstalled Maxwell
-deleted old Maxwell folder
-installed the RC
-made sure there was an environment variable named Path and it point to the mxcl folder (there has to also be a MAXWELL_ROOT variable pointing to the main Maxwell folder)
That's it, I can render. Ofcourse there are issues, mostly I think disabled features.
- no sky or skydome
- no textures
- if I use the dropdown menu from the viewport and chose Render, it crashes, every time. But if I just use the render button, it doesn't. In fact it hasn't crashed once.
- if I try and change the weightmap param in material editor, it freezes.
- opening material browser stalls it for a few secs.
- buttons on top row don't stay depressed, so you don't know if you're in move or rotate...
- in mxcl, preview window doesn't seem to work
- changing iso/shutterspeed doesn't seem to work
- enabling/disabling material layers doesn't do anything
......
that's all I have for now
Like I said I have only used it for a very short while, but the speed and materials look really promising.
I mean look at those highlights, they're not just plain white, there's subtle color tinges, and the way it spreads out, and little blue stripes from the coating.....it's really nice I think.
I really hope they start enabling the rest of the functionality in the following days.
wagurto, sky or skydome don't work for now. Use emitters.
